In 2006, somewhere in the chaos of the Call of Duty lobbies on XBOX Live, OpTic Gaming was born. Having revolutionized a unique and entertaining way to play the game, OpTic set itself apart from the rest of the player base and teams.
OpTic proceeded to pave the way of gaming entertainment by being one of the first collections of gamers to record their gameplays and create content of it to be shared on the internet. After dominating the YouTube gaming space in Call of Duty, the transition to Esports was seamless. Holding onto the content values, OpTic was able to link the fanbase, the Greenwall, and the competitive teams in a way no other organization had done before.
Nadeshot, Scump, and H3CZ continued to lead the charge for content and competition in the Call of Duty scene, taking OpTic from just a simple group of gamers to a household name in the earliest stages of Esports.
Call of Duty Esports as well as gaming content on Youtube exploded in 2013, and OpTic with it. In order to maximize time for content and competition, the OpTic team moved into a team house in Chicago, IL.
The 6050 house created some of the most iconic moments in Esports, taking the competitive aspect, content, and fanbase of OpTic to the next level. Nadeshot, Scump, H3CZ, BigTymer, Flamesword, MBoZe, MaNiaC, and many others were watched by hundreds of thousands of gamers in their content and on stage during their competitions.
Live-streaming was also introduced to the internet during this time, giving the fans a direct connection to the OpTic members as they practiced Black Ops 2 or dove into the world of Minecraft.
After 3 years in the first content house, it was time for an upgrade. The Scuf House brought a new outlook to OpTic and gaming as a whole. In just 5 years, gamers were starting to transition from nerds that played video games into internet celebrities that people everywhere aspired to be.
Just as the house grew, so did all aspects of OpTic. New content series such as Vision, Smooth Competition, The OpTic Podcast, and many more were introduced to the fanbase. OpTic Esports expanded outside of just Call of Duty, winning championships in Counter-Strike, Halo, and Gears of War. With the introduction into these new Esports, new personalities were discovered that the fanbase continued to fall in love with.
During this time, OpTic Call of Duty formed a team of Scump, Formal, Karma, and Crimsix that many consider to be the greatest dynasty in the history of the Esport.
Today, OpTic Gaming continues to connect with its global fanbase through content creation and by maintaining some of the most dominant competitive teams in the world. Representing the GreenWall in Call of Duty Esports, OpTic Texas has secured back-to-back Championship victories in 2024 and 2025—cementing its legacy at the top of the scene.
OpTic also competes at the highest level in Halo. Alongside esports, OpTic's content creators members regularly featured across the main YouTube channel and social platforms. Nearly two decades later, OpTic remains one of the most influential and successful organizations in gaming. Built brick by brick, the GreenWall stands stronger than ever.
